George Kennedy

Here you will find items currently consigned for sale by George Kennedy

A familiar character actor, the tall, burly George Kennedy began his career as a child performer on stage and in radio performances. After a stint in the Army during WWII, during which he was responsible for the opening of the first Army Information Office that provided technical assistance to films and TV shows, he earned a spot as a technical advisor on "The Phil Silvers Show/Sgt. Bilko".

Kennedy went on to appear as either a villain or hero in a variety of guest appearances ("Have Gun, Will Travel"; "Cheyenne"; "Gunsmoke") and TV-movies and miniseries ("See How They Run" NBC, 1966; "Deliver Us From Evil" ABC, 1973; "Backstairs at the White House" NBC, 1979). He headlined the short-lived police dramas "Sarge" (NBC, 1971-72), as a former cop turned priest, and "The Blue Knight" (CBS, 1975-76), as a foot patrolman. Kennedy hosted the short-lived public affairs show "Counterattack: Crime in America" (ABC, 1982), a forerunner of shows like "America's Most Wanted". In 1988, he joined the cast of the long-running CBS serial "Dallas" as Carter McKay, a business rival of the Ewing brothers (Larry Hagman and Patrick Duffy).

Kennedy began his film career in 1961 in "Little Shepard of Kingdom Come" and went on to menace Audrey Hepburn in "Charade" (1963), was a member of "The Dirty Dozen" (1967) and won the 1967 Best Supporting Actor Oscar as prisoner on a chain gang with Paul Newman in "Cool Hand Luke". He provided stoic support in "disaster movies" like "Airport" (1970) and "Earthquake" (1974) and was Leslie Nielsen's partner in comedy in "Naked Gun - From the Files of Police Squad!" (1988), and its two sequels.

MAKE A BID -
Leather Bound Original Scripts & Scrapbook

George Kennedy, an Academy Award Winner and one of the most respected actors in the history of film and television, has authorized Celebrity Consignments to consign for sale his private, leather-bound collection of original scripts… scripts he used personally during the shooting of several of his films and television series, and his personal scrapbook from the years 1959-1964.

Because a sale value has not yet been established for this “priceless” collection of scripts or his one-of-a-kind scrapbook, Celebrity Consignments has been instructed to offer these items for sale to the highest bidder(s).  (This is not an auction) Bidding will be by private submission, via email.

Mr. Kennedy will have final approval as to whether or not to sell the scripts as an all-inclusive package or as separate volumes, based upon the bids received. The notebook will be sold separately and is not included in the all-inclusive package.

If sale is approved by Mr. Kennedy, the winning bidder(s) will be notified and payment shall be processed by Celebrity Consignments.

The scripts and scrapbook will be offered on the Celebrity Consignments website for a period of 60 days.

Additional information:

Mr. Kennedy desires to sell the entire collection of scripts as a single all-inclusive package, but offers will also be entertained for individual scripts. Therefore when submitting your offer, you may include a bid for the “all-inclusive package”, as well as additional bids for any individual scripts you have particular interest in obtaining.

Please note that the personal scrapbook will be sold separately and is not included in the all-inclusive package.

Mr. Kennedy will make the final determination as to selling the entire collection as an all-inclusive package or piecemeal, based upon the bids received. If the bidding falls short of the undisclosed reserve set by Mr. Kennedy, Mr. Kennedy and Celebrity Consignments are under no obligation to sell the items below the reserve.

If your bid is determined to be the highest submitted above the reserve, please consider your bid to be a legal and binding obligation to fulfill. The winning bidder(s) shall have the option to have his name and the amount paid published or not on the CelebrityConsignments.com website at the finalization of the sale.

If you are a collector and value the film accomplishments of George Kennedy, please email us with your offer.

Upon Mr. Kennedy’s approval of the sale, Celebrity Consignments will notify the winning bidder(s) and request immediate payment. Upon receipt of payment, items will be shipped to buyer(s) along with a bill of sale and a certificate of authenticity signed by Mr. Kennedy.
