He is an undisputed legend in the world of motion pictures and emerged as one of the most successful actors of this era, appearing in a number of the most popular and acclaimed films of the late ‘50s and early ‘60s. Most noted for his comedic roles in such films as “Some Like it Hot” with Marilyn Monroe and Jack Lemmon, and “Operation Petticoat” with Cary Grant, Tony Curtis also gained fame in such dramas as “The Great Imposter”, “The Boston Strangler”, and was nominated for an Academy Award for his role in “The Defiant Ones” with Sydney Poitier.
Since the early 1960’s, Tony Curtis has had a second career as a painter. His paintings are featured in galleries around the world, including Las Vegas, Maui, London, Paris, and New York and in 2007, his painting, The Red Table went on display at the Metropolitan Museum in New York City.
